Knitli

Tools worthy of the work.

Knitli is a small software company. We build tools for work where being wrong costs something — the kind of work that's been handed mediocre software for decades. We're changing that, one tool at a time.

Our first product is on the way.
Marque — Summer 2026.

How we work

Three things shape everything we ship.

01

'Good enough' isn't

Most tools for serious work clear a low bar and stop there. We don't ship the thing that technically works — we ship the thing that actually helps the person using it.

02

Close to the problem

The best tools come from people who live the work. We build like we're the ones who'll have to use it — because more often than not, we have been.

03

Honest about what we don't know

We won't oversell. We'll tell you what works, what doesn't, and what we're still figuring out.

On the workbench

Our first product is Marque.

It's built for work where the details aren't a nicety — they're the whole job. We're keeping the specifics under wraps a little longer, on purpose. There's a teaser up now, and the full thing lands Summer 2026.

Who we are

A small operation, by design.

Eighteen years in U.S. intelligence, most of it at DIA. I left in 2025 to build software full time — tools that respect the people stuck using them, and refuse the idea that 'good enough' was ever good enough. Based in DC.

From the archive

Before this, we spent a year on open developer tooling for AI context. The market didn't line up — but the work taught us how to build what came next. It stays public and unmaintained, yours to fork.
